Friends of the cotswolds

"We are a charity working to protect and enhance the unique environment and heritage of the Cotswolds. We are passionate about making a visible and vibrant difference. The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful areas in the UK, a place we wish to cherish and nurture"

The Friends of the Cotswolds is a local charity that owns the Old Prison. Having bought the site in 2013,  they have invested in significant structural developments to improve its condition. All works done have been achieved through fundraising. Today they continue to work hard to ensure its future is preserved and have exciting plans to further develop the Old Prison as a heritage visitor attraction and protect this important Grade II* listed site.

Away from the Old Prison, the Friends also support local craft apprentices through the Cotswold Craft Apprenticeship Scheme; helping craft apprentices across the region with grants and training.

They are a charity that relies heavily on support and donations from locals and visitors to the region.
